Sweet Angel went in for x-rays today. We pulled her from the shelter with a bad leg. Turns out she has a malformed humerus bone. The bottom part never fully formed which left it weak. This most likely is why she has a fracture where it connects at her elbow. The vet believes it was most likely just from her weight alone that caused this fracture (she only weighs 5.8lbs!!!) Her best and only real option, due to not having enough bone to work with, is amputation (we were hoping to repair it). This surgery will be around $650-$750 to complete including take home meds plus the $163 today for her x-rays. We are a very small rescue and after our Parvo puppies, we could really use some help!
